Ya know, I love D.U.C. I loved going there. I loved the teachers, the classes, and most importantly, the people that work there. I attended here for 7 years (4 for undergrad, 1 for credential, 2 for Masters). I wouldn't want to have gone anywhere else.
aerincreator was asking me about going to a real college after community college. He asked what the process was like and what not. He's thinking of going to the University of Florida, since he's way over there in the bayou. He jokingly asked how much D.U.C. was. I gave him a number that I thought it was. He said that was pretty expensive. I said, yeah, but you get a great education here. At least i think so.
On a whim, i checked the website. For some reason, it surprised me that it had the cost of tuition on it. And then I read what tuition is nowadays.
And my jaw dropped.
I immediatly IMed my D.U.C. pals to verify and confirm my feeling of horror. Yup, their virtual jaws dropped as well. When I started, the tuition was around $26,000 a year, with on campus housing. When I finished my undergrad year, it was around $31,000.
With room and board, the tuition is now $42,326.
Oh yeah, my kids are going to state schools.
